During the STARS Conference last year we asked you for the best way to communicate project information and the response we received was to host it on the STARS site. So here we are. Either save this link, or follow this page to see updates to this page. This page will continue to be one of our communication channels throughout the project duration.
So yes we landed on a name for the project. Thank you for all your suggestions. Nova! Not the TV show, nor the car, but instead the Nova Project is the birth of a new STARS. The final longitudinal database will still be called Student Teacher Accountability Reporting System (STARS).
STARS has served NM well for over the last 13 years, and still today NM is one of the only states that can match student, to teacher, to courses since 2006. The Nova Project will replace our current manual data collection process with a real time process, improving the timeliness and quality of the data.
This time it is real (time). Get ready!!!
