Blog Policies

This policy is based on the U.S. Department of Education's "Comments Policy."  The purpose of this blog is to provide educators supporting educational technology a platform where we can share insights, experiences, and knowledge that will help foster student success around the state and initiate a solution-oriented dialogue. This is not a place to air grievances or spread political messages. We encourage you to submit potential comments and posts; your ideas are important to ensure that a broad range of New Mexicans are active and informed participants in the discussion.  The New Mexico Public Education Department reserves the right to modify this policy at any time and the Public Education Department expressly reserves the right not to post comments on these pages.

Comments and posts are reviewed before they are posted. The Public Education Department retains the right to post or not post any submission. In addition, we expect that participants will treat each other, as well as our agency and our employees, with respect. We will not post submissions that:

  • contain vulgar or abusive language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive terms that target specific ethnic or racial groups
  • promote services or products (non-commercial links that are relevant to the blog post or comments are acceptable)
  • are clearly "off topic," or "spam"
  • make unsupported accusations
  • reference or identify in any way others by name (including students)
  • do not adhere to the goals of this blog

We don't edit submissions to remove objectionable content, so please ensure that your comment contains none of the above. We recognize that the Web is a 24/7 medium, and your comments are welcome at any time. However, given the need to manage state resources, moderating and posting of comments will occur during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Comments submitted after hours or on weekends will be read and posted as soon as reasonably possible; in the majority of cases, this means the next business day. Posts will be updated periodically. To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include personally identifiable information, such as name, Social Security number, addresses, phone numbers or email addresses in the body of your comment. If you do voluntarily include your name in a comment, which we generally do not recommend, that comment may or may not be posted on these pages. If your comment is posted, your name may be redacted or removed. In no circumstances will comments be posted that contain Social Security numbers, addresses, email address, phone numbers, or similar personally identifiable information. Questions you post for the Public Education Department may not be answered here. If you have a question for us, please contact (505) 827-5800.
